Task Teams

Each Task Team consists of a group of volunteers, experts within the relevant field of business, who contribute to the result of the task by their contribution in kind. Each Task Team is supported by one dedicated Technical Editor, as approved by the workshop. Each Workshop member has the opportunity to nominate representatives to participate in the work of these Task Team(s).

The following three Task Teams (eNotification, eTendering and eCatalogue) are part of the pre-award public procurement area, focusing on:

  • Further development of the deliverables from CEN BII 2, in particular on the Virtual Company Dossier and eCatalogues, taking into account the input from the user community
  • Development of new or revised profiles related to procurement processes such as dynamic purchasing systems, e-auctions, direct award procedure, framework agreement, etc. The new development may also imply additions to the already defined profiles (for instance messages used with unstructured information, such as “Question and answers”).
  • Defining common notification content and means to exchange of metadata information, to facilitate and make more efficient the search and discovery of tender opportunities. This could be also used in the case of contract award notices, as a means of monitoring public procurement expenses, efficiency and SME inclusion, amongst others.

eNotification – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables related to the area of notification within the pre-award phase of public procurement. The Task Team is responsible for development of new deliverables, in coordination with the activities and deliverables of the eTendering Task Team, as well as governance and life cycle management of eNotification deliverables inherited from previous BII Workshops.

eTendering – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables (related to the area of tendering and awarding within the pre-award phase of public procurement. The Task Team is responsible for the development of new deliverables in coordination with the activities and deliverables of the eNotification and eCatalogue Task Teams where necessary, as well as governance and life cycle management of eTendering deliverables inherited from previous BII Workshops.

eCatalogue – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables related to the use of electronic catalogues within the pre- and post-award phase of public procurement. The Task Team is responsible for the development of new deliverables in coordination with the activities and deliverables of the eTendering Task Team, as well as governance and lifecycle management of eCatalogue related deliverables inherited from previous BII Workshops.

Post-award – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables related to the area of ordering, delivery, invoicing within the post-award phase of public procurement. The Task Team will be responsible for the development of new deliverables, in coordination with the activities and deliverables of the eCatalogue Task Team where necessary, as well as governance and maintenance of deliverables inherited from BII1.

Architecture and methodology – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables related to Architecture and Methodology as well as Governance and Life Cycle Management. The Task Team is responsible for the development of new deliverables and guidelines, and for coordinating the work of all other Task Teams, as well as governance and maintenance of methodology and guidelines deliverables inherited from the previous BII Workshops.

In particular, the architecture and methodology activities focus on:

  • improvements to existing deliverables, including the development of test cases and validation tools.
  • review existing approaches to ensure that an optimal modularity is achieved.

Capacity Building – Task Team

The team deals with Work Programme activities and functional deliverables related to the areas of Capacity Building and Coordination with other initiatives. The Task Team is responsible for the delivery of guidance and training materials and website contents, including a registry of self-conformance statements, and for coordination with other European and/or national initiatives.

The members of the CEN BII Managing Committee participate to the activities related to Capacity Building.
